Someone Between
Based in oral history, "Someone Between" is a play about a young Cambodian-Canadian woman struggling to find her place between two very different cultures: her Canadian community and her traditional Khmer household.
What made this show most interesting to work on was that it was the first time in many years where I was actively collaborating with a set designer. As I had done both set and lights for most of my shows in the last few years, I wasn't sued to having anyone else's energy to feed off. It was also a team I hadn't worked with before, so the whole thing together made a refreshing change from bouncing ideas around in my own head.
